From May to September<\/strong>, Naples is a city where you can go to the sea<\/strong>, to relax in the sun and enjoy the breaks between one cultural tour and another<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article we suggest the beaches of Naples and surroundings where you can go to relax<\/strong>, excluding the renowned islands of<\/strong> Capri, Ischia and Procida, and the Amalfi Coast<\/strong>, which we have talked about in other blog articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We tell you about the favourite places for Neapolitans to swim and those little known by tourists<\/strong>, which are worth discovering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the hill of Posillipo to the beaches of Miseno<\/strong>, between breath-taking views<\/strong> and the company of Vesuvius<\/strong>, you will find many beaches to be experienced<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bagno Elena<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first Neapolitan seaside establishment<\/strong> was built in 1840<\/strong> at the beginning of Via Posillipo<\/strong>: Bagno Elena<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very famous for its volcanic beach<\/strong> and for the privileged position between the historic XVII century building of Palazzo Donn\u2019Anna and the watchtower of Palazzo Guercio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years it has been the favourite place of artists and intellectuals, such as Eduardo De Filippo, Tot\u00f2, Wagner and Oscar Wilde<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The establishment consists of a central pier used as a solarium<\/strong>, a large beach<\/strong>, a smaller beach<\/strong> suitable for the needs of families with children<\/strong>, a beach bar<\/strong> and a restaurant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bagno Sirena<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the other side of Palazzo Donn\u2019Anna<\/strong>, you will find another well-known seaside establishment<\/strong>: Bagno Sirena<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built in 1850<\/strong>, it is an oasis for relaxing<\/strong>, a good choice for relieving stress<\/strong>, lulled by the sound of the sea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach has about 500 sunbeds overlooking the gulf and Vesuvius<\/strong>, and even if the area is not cheap<\/strong>, it is one of those experiences that is worth enjoying at least once in Naples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To walk in the establishment, you have to cross the road, passing between the historic houses of Posillipo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We suggest staying until sunset<\/strong> to admire the magic of the sun embracing the sea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riva Fiorita<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For years, the Italian TV channel Rai 3 has broadcast the soap <\/strong>Un Posto al Sole<\/em><\/strong>, which made the splendid Villa Volpicelli<\/strong> (location of Palazzo Palladini in the series) famous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another very famous historic building in Posillipo is Villa Rosebery<\/strong>, the summer residence of the President of the Italian Republic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among these imposing buildings, you will find a diamond, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area: Riva Fiorita<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A place as beautiful as it is precious, which can only be accessed either by walking Via Ferdinando Russo or by boat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Often, this area is known for the renowned restaurant \u201cGiuseppone a Mare\u201d<\/strong>, which had been here since 1889<\/strong>, serving fish specialties overlooking Vesuvius<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baia delle Rocce Verdi (Green Rocks Bay)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are still in the Posillipo<\/strong> area, in the flagship seaside complex of Villa Fattorusso: Baia delle Rocce Verdi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The establishment is located on a tuffaceous structure, where you will have unforgettable moments of relax by the sea or while swimming in one of the two seawater pools<\/strong> (one for adults and one for children).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can sunbathe<\/strong> and marvel a breath-taking view of Naples Gulf, Capri and Sorrento Peninsula<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reservation is required<\/strong>, and you can find all the information on the site<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cliffs of Marechiaro<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another place where Neapolitans enjoy the sun and the sea<\/strong> is \u201c\u2018O Scuglione e\u2019 Marechiaro<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 the big cliff of Marechiaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Symbol of the Dolce Vita of the 1960s<\/strong>, here it is still possible to feel the unique atmosphere of a typical small fishers\u2019 village<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can be reached either from Calata Ponticello or by boat<\/strong> thanks to the historic boatmen of Marechiaro<\/strong>, and it is also possible to book excursions to the Gaiola Submerged Park<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water is among the most pristine in the area, with a spectacular view of Vesuvius, Sorrento Peninsula and Capri<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cliffs are free<\/strong>, so umbrellas, deck chairs and packed lunches can be brought onto it<\/strong>, even if the surroundings are full of pretty restaurants and cafes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to it, you will find the Lido Marechiaro<\/strong><\/a>, for which where you can book<\/strong> the sunbeds placed on the pier<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submerged Park of Gaiola<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Gaiola Submerged Park<\/strong> is an enchanting place, a protected marine area<\/strong>, where you can go scuba diving<\/strong>, snorkelling<\/strong> or have guided tours of the Pausilypon Archaeological Park<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach is a suggestive place, an unspoiled oasis with clear waters that can be reached also on foot departing from Parco Virgiliano<\/strong>, along a road of curves and stairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access is free<\/strong>, but after Covid-19 pandemic the beach opens on two shifts (9am-1pm and 2pm-6pm)<\/strong> with a one-hour-long interval for sanitization and a maximum of 200 people<\/strong> per shift<\/strong>. Therefore, a reservation indicating the number of people and the timespan is required on the <\/strong>CSI Gaiola website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beaches of Miseno and Miliscola<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The beaches of Miseno and Miliscola<\/strong> are the best choice if you love fine sand and equipped seaside establishments<\/strong>. They can be reached either by car of with a shuttle departing from Vomero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In these areas you will also find many free beaches<\/strong> for which, in compliance with the new legislations<\/strong>, you can book a place with the app Prenotalido<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
